coaching & improving

Northern WaCoach Rob Wardve provides excellent coaching for improvers and competitive swimmers at Moss Side and Manchester Aquatics Centre.

We cater for anyone who can swim a bit, though we can help people find local lessons when needed.

Our fab coaches are Rob Ward, for high performance, Chris neilson, Edwin lace and Hana Kubacova. A new coaching development plan is in place for 2010/11. There are new coaches waiting for start dates, Chris Trzeciak and Petre Krunka

Personal training programmes are available from Rob on request

principles of training - SPORT

Specific - Progression - Overload - Reversibility - Type

Training must be specific to the; sport, the type of fitness required and particular muscle groups.

Progression - As your body adapts to training, it progresses to a new level of fitness.

  • more progress is made in the early stages
  • the higher your fitness level, the slower the progress
  • You may reach a plateau periodically
