In 2007 / 08 Proud City Co-operative have sponsored the Club's 10th Anniversary T-Shirts sponsored a swimming Pod Cast on Canal-St Radio, supports the Club with funding applications and worked with Club volunteers in the development of a new and unique qualification called 'An Individual profile in Active Citizenship'. It is unique because it is all about you, your goals and community ambitions. It is designed to help people make a difference and is great for valuing volunteers www.proudcity.org
Pride Sports is an LGBT Sports and Leisure infrastructure organistion for Greater Manchester and the North West. It is supporting Northern Wave's 10th anniversary swim at PrideGames 2008, Saturday September 13th. Food packs, fruit, medals and with other sponsorship support and funding applications. www.pridegames.org
A lottery funnding grant for 2 years from 'Awards For All' has been awarded to Northen Wave for coaching, equipment, events, club development activity and to support volunteering.
Taurus Bar, No1 Canal Street, Manchester. Iain and Polly are long standing friends and supporters of Northern Wave. They have helped us with many parties and fundraisers. Each week Taurus put on sandwiches for our members www.taurus-bar.co.uk
Manchester Pride's valubale Community Fund, uses cash raised at Pride to make grants to local organistions and community groups. In 2007 / 08 our £1,000 grant helped to make swim teaching available to recreational swimmers, help with the promotion of our now very successful women's swim night and has helped Northern Wave to establish a refugee assistance policy, which in turn has helped the plight of a number of refugees. This policy is now extended to others, including local in very difficult positions. www.manchesterpride.com
