about Northern Wave Women

We are a friendly bunch of girls of various abilitie, age, professions, origin, size, you name it, who have one thing in common - we like to get wet!!!  So if this sounds like you and you fancy a swim in a supportive and motivating environment, come and give it a try at one of our regular swimming sessions.  New member of all abilities are welcome: whether you prefer a few lengths and a chat once a month, or a coached swim once or twice a week!

Facilities

We meet at Moss Side Leisure Centre on Tuesdays and at the Manchester Aquatic Centre on Sunday evenings. Both venues offer unisex showers and individual private changing cubicles as well as separate men's and women's communal showers.  For you who are shy or simply don't want to get changed in front of other people there is no need to worry as you can choose your changing rooms.

social events

Following each session swimmers (boys and girls) will often go for a drink to Taurus Bar No1 Canal Street.

With the arrival of the year 2008 we introduce a regular monthly 'girly' social event which is to take various forms.  The social is for all Northern Wave Women as well as anyone who may be thinking about joining the club and would like to get to know us out of the water first.

Our fourth social – Pub crawl in Chorlton– was enjoyed by all!  We managed to ‘crawl’ all the way from The Lead Station to Bar Braw.  Certainly an eventful evening ;-)

The upcoming girly social will be a long expected 'Trip to Hebden Bridge 25th May 2008' (time TBC, keep an eye on the web).  So, if you fancy hanging out with your swimming pals or making new friends, come along.   For more info call 07709587696, email or speak to Hana at training.
